  1. BORA FOAM install 4 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Oct 2019

This product installs easy, and I was able to pre-cut every piece prior to putting it under the house.
The vents were the slowest part of the install due to cutting them the to the correct size but it was not difficult. I used two layers of board for each vent space.

The only thing that I can say was a negative or maybe just misspoken, is the thickness of the vapor barrier on the board. If I recall, it was said to be a 6ml thickness. I find that hard to believe as it punchers and tears very easy.

I would still recommend this to you.

  2. 63 degrees in my crawlspace 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Dec 2018

Installed this Bora-Foam several years ago in my crawlspace (about 900 SF) on stem walls and between joists on sill. Filled cracks with spray foam around Bora-Foam on sill. Left a 1" termite inspection port above the foam on stem wall, which has passed 2 annual termite inspections. Installed 8 Mil Reinforced Crawl Space Liner on dirt/gravel floor and around piers. Also installed a dehumidifier in crawlspace.

It was 20 degrees the past several nights and 30's during the day. The past few mornings, the temperature (remotely monitored) has be 63 degrees in the crawlspace and 51 percent humidity, which I control. Prior temps before at bottom of stem wall was in the 30's with a dirt floor temp of 51 degrees.

Thanks Crawl Space Depot. You made it possible with a little money of course. I'm building a new house with a crawlspace and have specified Crawl Space Depot products.

  3. Cut with a pocket knife to perfect size 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Jul 2018

This foam board is simply awesome - I bought a sheet of it and cut 19 pieces to the exact size needed for each vent (yes, they varied quite a bit due to mortar slop and brick work). I cut each one with a 3" pocket knife. Once on each side then a quick snap and it was just right. Filled the gaps with foam sealant and could not be happier and more proud of my handy work... If you have very basic skills, you can do it - easily.

  5. Fabulous rigid foam board 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Feb 2016

This Borafoam is easy to work with and looks fantastic. Turns dingy dark cold crawlspace walls into nice white clean space!
Excellent quality and the people at Crawl Space Depot were so helpful, friendly and shipping was super fast.

  6. crawlspace insulation 4 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Nov 2015

I saved thousands of dollars (compared to a contractor's quote) insulating and encapsulating my condo crawlspace using borafoam and others supplies from Crawlspace Depot. The borafoam is an excellent product for this use. The biggest challenge was cutting the boards to fit thru my 2 ft crawlspace hatch and then to fit pieces to the engineered rim joists with all the pipe, bolts, and wire penetrations. The challenge was finding appropriate knives to cut the foam both outside the crawlspace and then "freehand" in the crawlspace for the final fitting. Fortunately I still have all ten digits.
